Andrei is a senior copywriter at Energy BBDO in Chicago. As MC regulars know, I sometimes get a little jealous of Chicago CWs. Of their accounts, specifically. Like Altoids, Orbit and Corona in Andrei’s book. Two Corona beach shoots. Plus a Corona beach microsite (a classic). Arrrrg.

Cassie is a copywriter at space150 in Minneapolis. She’s gone and done it. The very first Pinterest portfolio on MC. And you know what that makes her? The winner. Nice.

Sandy Wang, Recruiter at Magnani Caruso Dutton in NYC, is looking for both a freelance ACD/copywriter and a freelance senior copywriter. From MCD’s job descriptions: “MCD is the kind of place that encourages innovation and rewards hard work. We are an agency where ideas rule, and everything follows from there. Here you’ll find smart, creative professionals that take what they do seriously, but thankfully not themselves. By design we are a highly productive agency without the long hours, and promote teamwork without any embarrassing pep rallies.” What’s worse than embarrassing pep rallies? Nada. Check out detailed job descriptions below. Then email MCD at the address below.

Steve is a copywriter/CD in Los Angeles, formerly CCO of Dailey, Saatchi LA and Ammirati London, and ECD of Chiat. Plus, one of the nicest guys in the biz. His site is so loaded with classic work for clients like Apple, Energizer and Toyota, it was nearly impossible to choose what to feature in this post. The frame above is from a Honda Fury spot. Sick.

Shea is a copywriter at Trumpet in New Orleans. (MC’s first New Orleans shop, during Mardi Gras, DING.) Don’t leave without checking out his bonus section, Lagniappe. Which, by the way, is a word that entered English from Louisiana French. Is MC throwing Mardi Gras beads all over this post or what?
Portfolio: sheatullos.com
John and Ben Doessel, cousins, are new copywriters interning and freelancing their way into the biz. John reached out to MC with the idea of featuring both cousins in one post. How could MC refuse?

Darren is a writer at AJF Partnership in Melbourne, Australia. His portfolio (Indexhibit) is deep and awesome. Don’t leave without checking out his non-advertising sections too: RANDOM ACTS and MIXTAPES. MC is downloading You Know I Got Soul Mix as I type. Fingers crossed.

Joe is a senior copywriter in NYC. The first two pieces in his portfolio are self-created apps, Recco and Pee & Poo Save The World. About the latter, in Joe’s words: “It follows a pair of superhero …uhh… excrement in their epic quest to stop sinister aliens from abducting Earth’s baby animals.” Yes.

Nikki is a copywriter/ACD at Integer in Dallas. Her site was submitted by friend of MC, Alan McCoy (thanks, man), who notes that she wrote the entire 7-Eleven site: from corn dog rollers to little chocolate donuts. Yum.

Paul is a copywriter/copy director at Starz Entertainment in Denver. His site was submitted by British Bulldog, an AD in London (thanks much). How nice is that? Your former AD submits your site to MC because you’ve been doing some killer work and the people need to see it. You know, if countries would behave like creative teams the world would be a … well, nevermind.

Mikal is a copywriter in NYC. In addition to print, TV, web and alternative media on his site, Mikal also has Onion headlines, a cartoon and a race—The First Annual Billy Burg Bolt. That’s the first footrace in a portfolio on MC, if we’re not mistaken. Tip ‘o the hat, Mr. Cook.

Jim is a senior copywriter in NYC, freelance since 2005. Check out his CV—he’s been just about everywhere and worked on all kinds of awesome accounts: The Economist, BMW, Smirnoff, MTV, IBM, American Express and Captain Morgan. Good times.

Aaron is a copywriter/CD at Sarkissian Mason in NYC. His portfolio rocks. Just a fantastic crazy swirl of digital, experiential, virtual new world awesomeness. Get ready to geek out on this one. Love it.

Joel is a senior copywriter at Integer in Denver. Don’t misses: CAT, Hooked On Phonics and NatureMade (print), falling snowflakes for Big Bear (TV), and an executive meltdown for Cisco (interactive).

Ross is a junior copywriter at R/GA in NYC. One of MC’s fave things about portfolio sites is checking out what people did before they became copywriters. What lead them to a life of copywriting? For example, between May and July of 2006, Ross was a professional Ghost Hunter for Supernatural Occurrence Studies in Chicago. It’s like, duh. How else are you going to follow that up?

Michael is a senior copywriter at AJF Partnership in Melbourne, Australia. So cool to see portfolios from around the globe. So cool to compare humor and tone. To MC, the States and Australia aren’t too far apart, probably even closer than the States and the UK. Interesting.

Aimee is a copywriter/ACD in Chicago. Her site was submitted by fellow CW Mike Tuton (big ups), and it’s easy to see why. All kids of awesome work for a cool variety of clients like Adidas, Sorel, Tilex, Piperllime and Chipotle. She’s also started a new card company called Brain Surgeons & Rocket Scientists (link below). Love it.

Roger is a copywriter at Arnold Boston. Each of the campaigns on his site is represented by a TV star of the 80’s. Funny. I spent a few minutes trying to determine if there was some link between a star and his/her campaign, but quit when I hit Alf for Progressive Truck Insurance. In addition to work for Progressive, Carnival and McDonald’s, Roger’s got a little stand-up on his site. Once again proving MC’s theory that surfers, drummers and comedians make awesome copywriters.

Anthony is a copywriter in Birmingham, AL. He’s incorporated as Battery Ads, and his site is part personal portfolio, part one-man shop. Which brings up an interesting question, especially relevant to 2012. As a freelance creative, at what point do you make the switch from individual writer to small biz? And to what degree?

Carolyn Sweeney, Creative Recruiter for Digitas Boston, is looking for Senior Copywriters (more than one) and a straight-up Copywriter. From Carolyn: “Ready to do stuff nobody’s ever tried before? To work somewhere your colleagues not only get your ideas, but your jokes? And even your parents have heard of your clients? Welcome to Digitas. Our unique ebusiness model integrates digital strategy, web technology, creative, and marketing for the world’s top companies. You’ll be bombarded with new challenges—and inspired by people who are trailblazers, genuine, and accountable.” Um, yes please.

James is a copywriter at McCann in Birmingham, UK. He shares a shiny new Cargo site with art director Tim Jones, and they’ve added all kinds of new work to it, including Vauxhall, Harley-Davidson and Avis. Don’t miss: McCann Birmingham Recruitment. Wonder how that would that play in the States?

Newt is a TV writer/new copywriter, breaking into the ad biz after years writing for the likes of Jimmy Kimmel and The Tonight Show. His portfolio is small and spec, but you can see where it’s headed. Fame and fortune is MC’s prediction.

Mark is a copywriter/ACD in NYC. There’s a killer variety of work on his site for clients ranging from Corona to Mitsubishi to Washington Mutual. But don’t leave without checking out his Personal section. Mark’s also a talented singer/songwriter, voiceover guy and photographer. His blog, Fucked Umbrellas, features pics of broken umbrellas abandoned on the streets of NYC along with captions of what each umbrella’s owner might have been thinking. In Haiku.

Mike is a copywriter at Brunner in Pittsburgh. He put mullets on parking meters for Supercuts. “Has your haircut expired?” That’s funny. Anything with mullets is funny.

Bob is a copywriter/CD in Boulder and a fellow Duck (go Ducks!). In his Outdoor section, he has a campaign for the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame that features “the longest copy outdoor ads in American advertising.” About 10,500 words each. That’s what we like to see on MC. Only one complaint. Wish we could zoom in to read all of those beautiful words.
