Adia is a copywriter at TPN. Since her last post on MC (back on 12.06.2020), she’s been busy. After graduating from Savannah College of Art & Design, she landed at The Integer Group—now TPN. Her site features projects for the North Texas Toll Authority, Loctite, Frito-Lay, plus some radio, plus four projects from her school portfolio. If you like puppets (and who doesn’t), you’re in luck. There are puppets all over her site reminding people in Texas to get their toll tags. The world needs more puppets!
Brian is a senior copywriter at Cactus in Denver. His campaign “Thank a Vaccine,” which he did at Sukle before joining Cactus, got into AdAge, CA, and Graphis (nice). Bunch of other fun stuff on his site, too. This month, Brian is also teaching a “Writing for Tone” class at Denver Ad School. Dig it.
Since his last post on MC (way back 10 years ago on 08.15.12), Jay has developed a successful freelance career and (obviously) completely refreshed his portfolio. Way past time for an update.
Shea is a copywriter/creative director at Cactus in Denver. Since his last post on MC (back on 02.04.19), he’s been busy—including making the jump to CD at Cactus. Lots of new work up on his site for Colorado Lottery (ton of fun spots), Odell Brewing, 7-Eleven, and Camp Colorado. Definitely time for an update.

Andy is a senior copywriter in NYC, formerly in-house at AT&T, now on the hunt for his next gig (thanks to 2020, ugh). Love seeing in-house portfolios. His site features six awesome projects for AT&T and DirecTV, including Sports Illustrated magazine wraps, an animated social campaign, and ultra-slick marketing kits. One of the questions MC gets asked most often about being an in-house creative is, “Does it get boring, working on one client?” Not if your client is the size of AT&T. Also be sure to check out Andy’s Music page. Good stuff.
Shea is a senior copywriter at Cactus in Denver. Since his last post on MC (back on 02.05.16, almost exactly three years ago), he’s been busy—and making the most of the cool opportunities he’s getting at Cactus. Lots of new Colorado Lottery TV work and the commercial debut of KC’s Patrick Mahomes (who should have been in yesterday’s Super Bowl, ahem) for CommunityAmerica Credit Union. Definitely time for an update.
Michael is a senior copywriter at Unbridled in Denver, previously at The Integer Group. Good copywriting is all about taking advantage of opportunities to tell good stories, whether that’s in a Super Bowl spot or on a bar coaster. Michael went all out on a series of the latter for Coors (above), aimed at showing off Colorado pride. And now MC is a little bit smarter.
Alan is a senior copywriter in Dallas on the hunt for freelance or full-time. Since his last post on MC way back on 01.30.10, his book is 100% new—including projects for McDonald’s, Wells Fargo, 7-11, and a whole page of hand modeling. (Nice hands!) Definitely time for an update.
Jesse is a copywriter/designer/comedian/troublemaker in Chicago. Crazy mix of projects on his site, from Teddy Goalsevelt to Drink It Interns (above). Love his Press page—makes MC wonder why more of us don’t have one. Dig it.
Shea is a copywriter at Cactus in Denver. MC was laughing all the way through his portfolio, from the testimonials on the home page, to his Extracurriculars projects (would really like to hear some of those Hot Tubbin’ voicemails), to his References focus group. So funny.
Jim is a copywriter/creative director at O’Brien Advertising in Denver. His site is called The Good Endeavor, aptly titled with projects for Banner Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Colorado hospital/anti-tabacco initiatives, and QuitDoingIt.com, a cool-looking site to help young adults quit smoking.
Jay is a senior copywriter in Denver. Lots of fun stuff in his portfolio, including mad libs biz cards for David Pahl Photography. If you’re a copywriter, at some point in your career you’re going to try a campaign/piece that uses mad libs, and 99.9999% of the time it will be DOA. Odds are, you’ll get feedback like “people hate word puzzles” or “people don’t like to read” or “that’s too much thinking.” Which is infuriating, because it’s true. But people should like to read, and they should like to think, and if we help them do that, aren’t we making the world a better place, one David Pahl Photography biz card at a time? These questions are too deep for MC. But nice work, Mr. Roth.
Scott is a senior copywriter at VITRO in San Diego. Know what makes MC happy? Flipping through a portfolio and seeing killer writing all over the place. Long copy writing. Pages and pages of it. Because that means someone was doing some writing, and selling some writing, and buying some writing, and producing some writing. Which makes MC happy. And that’s a good way to start a Friday.
Shea is a copywriter at Trumpet in New Orleans. (MC’s first New Orleans shop, during Mardi Gras, DING.) Don’t leave without checking out his bonus section, Lagniappe. Which, by the way, is a word that entered English from Louisiana French. Is MC throwing Mardi Gras beads all over this post or what?
Nikki is a copywriter/ACD at Integer in Dallas. Her site was submitted by friend of MC, Alan McCoy (thanks, man), who notes that she wrote the entire 7-Eleven site: from corn dog rollers to little chocolate donuts. Yum.
Joel is a senior copywriter at Integer in Denver. Don’t misses: CAT, Hooked On Phonics and NatureMade (print), falling snowflakes for Big Bear (TV), and an executive meltdown for Cisco (interactive).
