Julie Rutigliano

sunkistooh_cargo1

Julie is a senior copywriter at 360i NYC. She’s been a writer/CD in NYC since 2004, when she got her start at Mad Dogs & Englishmen. MC is always interested to see what CW’s include on their About Us pages. For example, personal recommendations. At the bottom of Julie’s About Us, she’s got two fantastic notes from Kash Sree and Noah Kerner. How do you beat that?

UPDATE: Greg Gerstner

Greg is a copywriter/CD at Ogilvy NY. He’s got a brand new site and a bunch of new work to go with it, including an interactive touch wall for IBM at the US Open, and three new spots for IBM. But honestly, there’s so much killer work in Greg’s portfolio, any excuse to post it again is a good excuse.

Jason Rappaport

Jason is a copywriter/ACD/VP at McCann in Los Angeles. MC saved this one special for the holiday, because it’s deep (22 projects) and fun. Think of it as an excuse for getting away from the fam for a little breather. “Going to go down to the basement for a few, Uncle Herm. Got to check out this big portfolio site.” Don’t forget to grab a bottle of something on your way down. And a turkey leg.

Andrew Payton

Andrew is a copywriter/CD at R/GA in NYC. What a crazy fun mix of work on his site, including tons of great digital. Be sure to click on “Intel, Web Film, Changed” (top row, third from right). We all have moments as copywriters, moments when we know we’ve made it. Like when you’ve hired a rock band and paid them however much to set up on the 10th floor of an office building and crank out a song about middle management I.T. Good stuff.

Ryan Hartsfield

Ryan is a senior copywriter in San Francisco, previously at McCann and GSP (as an account guy). His site is based on a stack of paper. In his words, “One day I started cleaning out my files because they were moving us. So I started to stack up all my old briefs, dead ads, scripts, etc. into a neat little 8.5×11 pile. By the time I cleared out two years of shit, the stack was about three feet high. It looked too interesting to throw it away, so I taped it up. It became an art piece as a joke. I found a stand and put a $3000 price tag on it. I held a contest for names: “Dead Weight,” “Tower of Futility,” and the overly pretentious “Work”  are some of my favorites. I settled on “The Other 96%” because it represents all the bullshit we have to go through to make something that shouldn’t be as hard as it really is. Later I realized some of the better things I’ve done aren’t (theoretically) in the stack, so I turned the it into a site idea. And I suppose, in some way, made use of all the good n’ bad things in the pile that never came to be.” Love it.

Jeff Kerrin

Jeff is a freelance copywriter in San Francisco. Name a good agency in SF, chances are Jeff has written for them over the past 10+ years. So, asks you, what does it take to be a successful freelance writer in SF for that long? Three things. One, a bionic brain. Two, nice person. Three, I don’t know number three. If I knew, I’d be a freelance copywriter in SF like Jeff.

Peter Carnevale

Peter is a senior copywriter at GS&P, previously at Y&R and Mullen. Ton of great work in his book for a really awesome mix of clients, from Sprint to the Sopranos. His site is hosted on Cargo, which has taken over the Portfolio Site Universe over the past three months, and for good reason. Clean, easy to nav, and makes work look tay-ay-asty.
