Patrick is an in-house copywriter at American Express in Atlanta, Georgia, previously at FKA, and before that a graduate Creative Circus (2021). His portfolio is a mix of student work and post-grad projects for brands like Jeep, Delta Dental, Budweiser, Advil, and Tile. It’s so interesting to see how the walls between in-house and agency have broken down over the past 10+ years—allowing portfolio school creatives like Patrick to go back and forth in a way we couldn’t 20 years ago. Dig it.
Andrew is a senior copywriter at Adrenaline Agency in Atlanta. Since his last post on MC way back on 07.20.16, just after graduating from Creative Circus, he’s been busy. His site features some cool work for Atlanta United (above) and UNIFY Credit Union, plus a spec script for Seinfeld that takes place during quarantine 2020. Time for an update!
James is a new copywriter in his first week at his first junior copywriter job at Moxie in Atlanta—after recently graduating from Creative Circus. How cool is that? Almost as cool as his portfolio, which includes projects for Timberland, WWE, Hamburger Helper, Apollo, Super 8, WNBA, and more. Love it. Can’t wait to see what James does at Moxie!
Anna Doherty, Senior Recruiter at Huge, is on the hunt for a senior copywriter to join their team in Atlanta. (Yes, please.) From Huge:
“We are looking for a Sr. Copywriter to join the Atlanta, GA team!
Huge is a global experience agency made up of creatives, designers, technologists, strategists, and data scientists. We help companies elevate the human experience by creating unified brand experiences that people love.
Job Responsibilities:
Brainstorming creative concepts with the project team, developing original campaigns and representing the writer’s perspective in client presentations.
Express their ideas clearly, not just on the page (or screen), but face-to-face.
Foster the talents of our awesome copywriters at every level, both leading by example and sharing their experience
What we’d like to see:
A strong agency background, a proven ability to create copy for a variety of audiences, brands, and industries.
Deep experience doing beautiful, smart, print campaigns.
Experience in a range of digital platforms from social to online video campaigns.
Great presentation skills, both internally and client-facing. We want you to produce great copy and be able to express your ideas clearly.
An appreciation for the relationship between textual and visual elements (and great design in general). We expect our copywriters to understand that a product isn’t truly great unless the copy and the designs support each other.
Ability to write professionally in a variety of styles for diverse audiences. You need to be able to adapt your voice to each project with extreme ease.
Demonstrated ability to work independently when necessary and meet deadlines without handholding.”

Greg is a new copywriter/experienced producer. He’s also a drummer (like MC), so you know his portfolio is going to be good (ahem). All kinds of fun projects on his site, from other uses for Lipton Onion Soup (above), to Russian Tourism, to Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax. Dig it.
Jake is a new copywriter and a recent grad of Creative Circus in Atlanta (big congrats!). As always, super fun to see a student portfolio that looks like the student had fun making it—and that’s definitely the case with Jake’s. Can’t wait to see where he lands.
Nothing MC likes more than posting up new copywriter portfolios. Over the weekend MC featured Alex Escalera-Sanchez’s site (awesome), below are a few more Creative Circus recent copywriter grads (also awesome). Thanks much to Kevin Bleeker for forwarding. Congrats to all!
Alex graduated as a new copywriter from Creative Circus yesterday. (Big congrats!) So much fun stuff in his portfolio. Family Feud Late Night (Survey Said What?!), World Surf League, Gold Medal Flour, Master Lock (above), and a bunch more. Can’t wait to see where he lands.
Sunny is a new art director and a recent graduate of Creative Circus (big congrats, Sunny!). The first campaign on his site is for Southwest and it’s a killer idea. Make the hated middle seat desirable by offering priority boarding for passengers who reserve it. Why hasn’t anyone done that yet?
Cameron is a copywriter/CD at 22squared in Atlanta. So many killer projects on his site for amazing brands like Patrón, Rolex, Toyota, SunTrust, Mountain Dew, Under Armour, Comic Con, Sony, and Audible (above). Don’t miss his Patrón VR bee, which tells the story of Patrón through the eyes of a bee “chasing an agave plant as it’s harvested and transformed into tequila.” Drone, Patrón, Mexico. Nice to meet you, best project ever.
Bowen is a copywriter/CD in Atlanta, previously at Fitzgerald & Co., on the hunt for his next big thing. All kinds of killer projects on his site, including Huggies Baby Making Radio Station, a creepy spot for BP Driver Rewards (how the heck did they sell that through?), and 1,000+ unique songs for Coke’s 1,000 Name Celebration (including Jason, thank you very much). Love it.
Osmond is a freelance graphic designer in Atlanta. His portfolio is a mix of identity, digital, branding, and photography (above, for the Verizon #FREESTYLE50 Challenge) for clients like Verizon, Oskaide, Eden Body Works, Eve Milan, and Ween. Can’t wait to see what he does next.
Max is a copywriter at Fitzgerald & Co. // McCann in Atlanta. At the time of this post, he’s got six awesome projects on his site including Buy Back The Block for Checkers (above) featuring Rick Ross. Such a fantastic idea. Good for Checkers. Good for Carol City, Florida. Good for the world. Love it.
Andrew is a new copywriter after graduating from Creative Circus in June. In his first project, for Gunpowder Rye Whiskey, he uses real gunpowder to create their logo. Watch the “making of” video and you’ll see that they did it on a table in what looks like a very small backyard. (Gulp.) The things we do for portfolios.
Demetrius is a copywriter/ACD in Atlanta. All kinds of projects for some huge brands on his site including Ford, U.S. Marine Corps, BMW, NBA, Atlanta Falcons, and Delta. He’s got lots of experience with celebs too, including “Crazy Kevin” (above) for the Ford Escape featuring Kevin Hart (of course).
Jason is a copywriter/CD at CSE in Atlanta. Since his last post on MC (09.18.13), he’s moved from Ogilvy to CSE, Cargo to Squarespace, and added all kinds of new work to his site, including Big Head Lee for Coke Zero (above). Time for an update!
Hannah is a new copywriter after recently graduating from Portfolio Center in Atlanta. Sometimes, all you need is the right tagline, a photo of someone chopping veggies, and an astronaut’s head. Done.
Jeff is a new copywriter after recently graduating from Portfolio Center in Atlanta. Good info from Jeff that was news to MC: Portfolio Center and Miami Ad School joined forces in March. So, students of one can now access the resources/opportunities of both. Very cool.
David is a copywriter/CD in Atlanta. Don’t miss his social campaign for RaceTrac (convenience stores and gas stations in the southern United States) around their “endless bevy of fountain drinks,” for which David got to make up fictitious soda concoctions and name them—the ultimate dream job of every 13-year-old boy who ever lived in the southern United States. Good times.
Couple of weeks ago, MC was chatting with someone about CPR, about how all adults should know at least the basics, and that it was time to find a class. After reading Emily’s American Red Cross campaign (above), MC found a class and signed up. Just nails it.
On the back of Mariangela’s “The Official New Orleans Guide Of Who Not To Bring” there’s a quote by Mark Twain: “I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” Perfect quote. Hilarious project.
Zan’s campaign for Waze (“the crowd-sourced navigation app that helps you outsmart traffic and other traveling troubles”) features the line: “Three minutes late but thirty-three minutes earlier than the rest of the office.” Hello, every single day in San Francisco.
Sometimes you see a project in a writer’s portfolio and think, “I wish I’d done that.” Other times, you see a project in a writer’s portfolio and think, “I want to DO that.” MC has a high school photo from back in the day that needs Jordan’s Great Clips HAIR DO-OVER, so bad. So, so bad.
Big thanks to Lara for hooking up Creative Circus Week on MC. She graduates on June 20th with four other writers (big ups!), and then the future of advertising is in their hands. No pressure. Don’t miss her campaigns for Monopoly, Warby Parker (above), and Ford Fiesta. Good stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, MC is honored to present the portfolio sites of seven Fall/Winter 2013 Creative Circus graduating copywriters (in alphabetical order):
Creative Circus Week continues with Madison Jackson (goalittlemad.com, nice). There’s an appropriate amount of sexting, booze and wings in her portfolio for a recent college grad. But also the above video for Georgia Aquarium, which is charming. Dig it.
Creative Circus Winter 2013 CW Grads Week on MC kicks off with Craig Shervin, who shares a site with AD/partner Andrew Lindsey. Their URL is SalmonellaFarms.com and you’ll see why quick. Hilarious work all over the place. Big ups!
Josh is a recent Creative Circus grad now writing at Fitzgerald + Co in Atlanta. (MC loves seeing what student books land which writers where.) Don’t leave without checking out his Photography link. Holy smokes, some great stuff in there.
