Anna Crane

oldspice

Anna is a copywriter moving to Chicago in April, looking for her next thing. Since her last post on MC (09.24.16, after graduating from Creative Circus), she spent a year at New Honor Society in St. Louis before deciding to make the move. Her portfolio is a mix of produced and student work—which is so fun to see. Where’s she going to land? Stay tuned!

Simon Dolsten

bmwroadhome

Simon is a copywriter at KBS in NYC, previously at Momentum and SapientNitro. So many cool projects for BMW on his site, including The Ultimate Driver (competition to find the fastest driver in the US), Motorrad (awesome all-electric, self-balancing concept motorcycle), and The Road Home (above), two beautiful spots that say it all without saying a word.

Eli Drljaca

hair

Eli is a copywriter moving from Wisconsin to Austin in the beginning of March, on the hunt for his next thing. His site is a mix of produced and spec work for clients like the Madison Mallards, Flipflop Wines, Erbert & Gerbert’s, and K-WAY weatherproof jackets (above). Can’t wait to see where he’s going to land!

Chase Zreet

chase

Chase is a copywriter at Firehouse in Dallas. Bunch of killer projects up on his site for clients like Interstate Batteries (OMG the van), National Cheerleaders Association, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. But what’s featured above is not on his site. It’s a video cover letter Chase made back in the day to try to land a gig at Wieden on Sprite. It’s a rap video, which, I know, if you’re like MC you’re like “Oh no,” but oh yes. It’s really good. And it’s all Chase. Tip o’ the Hat, sir.

Copywriter Wanted: Up&Up, Greenville, SC

UpUp

Up&Up in Greenville, South Carolina, is on the hunt for a copywriter. From Up&Up: “Our Copywriter will partner with our Art Director to form a powerhouse creative force, in order to create inspirational ideas and concepts that others only wish they could execute. We are seeking someone who can take the client’s idea and give it substance, direction, and content through dead-on creative strategy and a chameleon-like mastery of the written word.

What We Do

Up&Up is the only agency that creates brand experiences for universities who are unafraid of change, exhilarated by innovation, and desire to stand apart in a time when the competition for students and alumni dollars is growing from all sides and the perceived value of a college degree is being challenged. Our work heightens brand awareness, boosts applications, attracts better students & helps retain them, grows alumni engagement, and makes the case for donors to give.

Who We Are and What We Value

At Up&Up, we’re an agency that impacts the greater good. We get things done. We solve problems that are impossible to solve. And we want everyone to win. We call that being Tenacious, a Resolutionist and serving The Greater Good. We also believe we haven’t arrived, and there’s something to learn each and every day. We call what we are, a Conscious Culture. We believe there’s a different and a better way to do business. Primarily, that’s being transparent, vulnerable and showing up as your true self vs. your work persona. It’s about the journey, with the destination for you and our company to be the best we can absolutely be. Our conscious culture is committed to being radically responsible, curious and candid. But that’s just the beginning of the rabbit hole. If you’re open to being challenged, learning and discovering and revealing more about yourself than you thought was possible, then this might just be the place for you. If you think this is you, then please, read on.

Jeff Schermer

swishy

Jeff is a creative at The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, serving the Disney Parks & Resorts division. At the time of this post he’s been there two months, so most of his portfolio is from his previous gigs at Zimmerman and Republica. Don’t miss his overnight social prank for Jamba Juice, “Swishy Chug,” featuring Adele and Ellen. Well, reacting to Adele and Ellen’s prank, and then getting a little love from Ellen. That’s how you do it.

Jason Fox

LCBTweets2

Jason is a freelance copywriter/CD in Omaha. At the time of this posting, he’s got 21 projects on his site for everything from Walmart to Wholly Guacamole. But his first project is one every copywriter on Twitter knows oh so well. Jason is the brains behind @LeeClowsBeard. From one copywriter blog to another way-more-famous copywriter blog—well-done, sir. Well done.

Hugh Gurin

justice

Hugh is a freelance copywriter/CD in San Francisco (and a good friend to MC). Been a little more than two years since Hugh’s last post (12.10.15), and since then he’s been busy. He’s got 32 projects up on his site—and like a gazillion killer headlines. Don’t miss his first project for UC Hastings (above). Truth.

Steve Horn

conan

Steve is a senior copywriter at Digitas in Chicago. He’s got fun projects for some fun brands on his site, including Maytag, Duluth Trading Co., KitchenAid, and Conan (above). Don’t miss the outdoor campaign he did for Conan in Berlin (and check out the video that goes with it). Hilarious.

Michael Tully

coors

Michael is a senior copywriter at Unbridled in Denver, previously at The Integer Group. Good copywriting is all about taking advantage of opportunities to tell good stories, whether that’s in a Super Bowl spot or on a bar coaster. Michael went all out on a series of the latter for Coors (above), aimed at showing off Colorado pride. And now MC is a little bit smarter.

Adam Barr

michigin

Adam is a freelance copywriter in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Always cool to see how perma-lance creatives present their work versus those looking for full-time agency or in-house gigs. Always cool to see some really nice storytelling, too—including Adam’s video for Michigin (above), made from juniper berries found on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. Impossible to watch and not want a martini.

Brittany Kittredge

chicken

Brittany is a junior copywriter at Walrus in NYC after graduating from Creative Circus in Atlanta. At the time of this post her portfolio is still 100% student spec and 1000% hilarious. If you’ve got a smartphone, don’t miss her “Chicken Cooker” app (a holiday must-have). And be sure to follow her @thisoldshirt Instagram account. So good.

Portfolio: brittanykittredge.com

Ricky Lambert

pencil

Ricky is a senior copywriter at Suckle in Denver. All kinds of smart work on his site including projects for Lottery Scratchers and some killer outdoor boards (don’t miss his first project for Colorado Crisis Services, awesome). Because this is MC, we had to feature Ricky’s side project “The Idea-O-Meter” (above) because it’s just so perfectly copywriter. And so true.

Portfolio: rickylambertdotcomwastaken.com

Eric Gautschi

beer

Eric is a copywriter/CD/managing partner at The New BLK in Omaha. Lots of killer work on his site for well-known brands like Airbnb and Nissan, and smaller brands like Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. (above) and Omaha’s Brickway Brewery. So cool to get to see a great book filled with work that most of us (outside of Nebraska) wouldn’t normally get to see. Dig it.

Portfolio: ericgautschi.com

Jane Harrison

spreadoneNAVC

Jane is a long-time freelance copywriter/CD in Orlando (but willing to travel). She’s worked with an eclectic mix of clients over the years, including Turner Classic Movies, Shutterfly, NBA City, CIBC Bank (North America), Cable & Wireless (Grand Cayman Island), and the North American Veterinary Community (above). Always interesting to see the difference between how a permalance creative executes their site (aiming for clients) versus an agency or in-house creative (aiming for a job). Dig it.

Ben Phillips

lawnman

Ben is a senior creative at TBWA\Manchester. Since his last post on MC (07.23.2015), he’s been busy. He’s got a killer-looking site (Squarespace), including an awesome video reel landing page. Love all of the amazing characters in his portfolio, from Neal the Sofaworks sloth, to New Westland Safelawn’s Lawn Man (above), to Glen the rentalcars.com Rental Car guru, to Ben’s dog who dances to Def Leppard (not kidding). Time for an update!

Portfolio: bennypee.com

Eduardo Vea Keating

mexicochicago

Eduardo is a copywriter/CD from Spain who’s been living and working in Chicago for the past six years—and is currently at DDB Chicago. Lots of cool outdoor and experiential stuff on his site, including projects for Mexico.com (above) and MINI (love the chairlift). Which makes sense, because he also has a second Behance site showing off his art, design and sculpture projects. Love it.

Portfolio: behance.net/eduportfolio

Matt Benjamin

plumber

Matt is a copywriter in Albuquerque on the hunt for his next thing. Love the strategic write-ups for his projects, titled “Consider This.” Short, to the point, great way to set things up. Also dig that Matt includes #1 Failures for each job he’s had on his Experience page—along with three things he’s learned (down at the bottom). Super smart site, all the way around. Except for his Jokes video. That’s good and dumb.

Portfolio: getmattbenjamin.com

Mike Beamer

cubs

Mike is a copywriter/CD at FCB in Chicago. Since his last post on MC a year ago, Mike has added a St. Louis Children’s TV campaign, an Illinois Tourism TV campaign and some other Illinois-made videos and OOH to his site. But his favorite update is an Illinois Tourism print ad in Sports Illustrated congratulating his beloved Cubs for winning the World Series (published in the World Series commemorative issue). Yessssss.

Max Reinhardt

socks

Max is a new copywriter on the hunt for his first copywriting gig after recently “matriculating” from San Diego Portfolio School. (Max’s word, not MC’s. Nice.) What’s more fun than that? His student portfolio features six spec campaigns at the time of this post, including the above for Happy Socks. Adorbs.

Portfolio: maxreinhardt.carbonmade.com

Ruben de Barros

listerine

Ruben is a junior copywriter at Nylon in Lisbon, Portugal. His site is hosted on Behance, which seems to be a more popular portfolio platform in other countries than here in the US (where Squarespace is king). Nothing MC loves to see more than new copywriter portfolios, doesn’t matter where from. Fresh ideas are fresh ideas.
