Chicago Portfolio School Week – Heather Robertson

Heather is a new copywriter in Chicago after graduating from CPS, previously a Marketing Research Analyst for 10 years in Kansas City. If MC knows anything, it’s that great writers come from all walks. Speaking of which, Heather’s campaign for Idaho potatoes using real potatoes to spell out headlines makes MC happy, having grown up in Boise, Idaho. Impressive that she was able to keep from eating the fries long enough to shoot ’em. NOTE: If you’re a potato fan and haven’t tried Idaho Russet Twice Baked Potatoes with cheese, bacon, sour cream, butter, and sea salt, you should Google the recipe immediately.

Lauren is a copywriter at DDB Chicago after graduating from CPS. She is the founder of Avocult, the official cult of the California Avocado, which MC shall be joining shortly. Don’t miss her About Me page, which gives the option of a 5 second bio, 10 second bio, 30 second bio, or “all the time in the world” bio. Which makes you want to read all four, of course. Smart.

Chicago Portfolio School Week – Matt Portman

Matt is a new copywriter out of CPS, currently freelancing at Laughlin Constable in Chicago. Before he was a copywriter, Matt was a journalist, then a filmmaker, then a comedian (ding!), once again proving MC’s theory that comedians make great copywriters. Really funny stuff up and down Matt’s portfolio. Dig it.

James Moffitt

James is a copywriter at Capital One in Richmond, VA, and a graduate of VCU. While he’s new to copywriting, he’s not new to writing and has an interesting portfolio to show for it. Biking to messenger bags, outdoor gear to Sink/Swim Press, there’s a super cool/alternative POV that runs through his site and his projects. Love to see someone doing it different.

Heather Parke

Heather is a freelance copywriter/ACD in Los Angeles. Check out her rez and you can’t help but be a little jealous of the agencies she’s worked with and the brands she’s worked on. Sick, sick, sick. MC had a hard time choosing what image to feature in Heather’s post, but if you have the opportunity to get Bradley Cooper’s face up there, that’s what you do. Right? Right.

Jeff Richey

Jeff is a senior copywriter at Sanders\Wingo in Austin. (His site was submitted to MC by Alan McCoy, big ups!) Lots of cool projects in his portfolio for brands like Republic Tequila (above), AT&T (featuring Paul George), and Run For The Water—a charity run in Austin that gives one person in Burundi, Africa clean drinking water for life for each entry. Casey Marks

Casey is a copywriter in San Diego, previously at Piston, after graduating from VCU. One of MC’s favorite things about being a copywriter is the crazy variety of subjects you get to immerse yourself in, for a week or a month or a year, in order to write for this or that. Casey’s portfolio features a car buying site, NFL team, probiotics beverage, Pride parade, and online movie promotions (including the LEGO movie, above). Good times.

Kathryn Kvas

Kathryn is a copywriter at Droga5 in NYC (awesome). In her first year at Droga5, she’s already worked on some huge projects for Under Armour including the amazing “I Will Not” campaign with Giselle and “You Are The Sum Of All Your Training” with Tom Brady, Jordan Spieth, Misty Copeland, and Stephen Curry (Warriors!). Circus Week Fall 2015: Phil Fattore

Phil is a new copywriter at barrettSF in San Francisco. So many student campaigns are based on dating life, or going on benders, or surviving the day after going on a bender, or pest control, or snacks, or booze. But you don’t see a lot of campaigns for vitamin supplements targeting the 50+ crowd. Phil’s SilverFox Force Active Figures are so funny, and so stupid, and so perfect.

Andy Lewis is a senior copywriter in San Francisco. He’s work-married to senior art director Stephen Giem and they’ve consummated the relationship with a joint portfolio site that’s hilarious and all love. Eric is a senior copywriter at Vitro in San Diego. The first project on his site is the Kerri Cannon for Asics and the World Series of Volleyball. It shot a volleyball 65mph with pinpoint accuracy, just like ace volleyballer Kerri Walsh—and could be controlled/aimed by participants over the web. Good times!
